The Turkish government will not allow the global US-led coalition launched an offensive against militants in Iraq and Syria ISIS from air bases. Turkey also will not take part in military operations against the Sunni radical group.
"Turkey will not join the armed operations but will fully concentrate on humanitarian operations," said the Turkish government official told AFP on Thursday (09/11/2014).
"Turkey will not take part in combat missions, or provide weapons," said the official who declined to be named.
The decision to repeat the Turkish refusal to allow the United States to put 60 thousand troops in Turkey in 2003 to invade Iraq. At that time, the refusal sparked a crisis between the two countries. Ankara also later refused permission for Washington to use its air bases to attack Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State (Secretary) John Kerry United States today arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to meet with the Arab countries and Turkey. This meeting is intended to form a coalition to fight the militants ISIS.
Kerry's trip to Arabia as part of his tour of the Middle East to build the coalition of anti-ISIS consisting of more than 40 countries. In the meeting in Jeddah, Kerry will discuss measures for defeating the jihadists ISIS in Syria and Iraq.
Earlier, President Barack Obama has ordered a relentless war against radical groups ISIS. Obama also has been given the green light to conduct air strikes on Syria in order to demolish the target ISIS.
