Do HRW Call Israel War Crimes in Gaza


It is delivered to HRW after the Israeli military announced a criminal investigation into the incident, which involved his forces during the military operation in Gaza. Gaza conflict that lasted 50 days between Israel and Hamas that ended on Aug. 26. More than 2,100 Palestinians, mostly civilians, and 73 people on the Israeli side, were killed during the Israeli military operation.

 

According to HRW, as reported by AFP on Thursday (09/11/2014), in three cases it investigates, Israel has caused many civilian casualties, which is a violation of the laws of war.

The third incident was separated into two strikes UN school in northern Gaza on July 24 and July 30 last, and the missile attack to another UN school in the town of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip on August 3. HRW mentioned, the third such attack killed a total of 45 people including 17 children.

"Two of the three attacks HRW investigated ... does not seem to target military targets or an indiscriminate attack. Third attack in Rafah was not disproportionate or indiscriminate," the HRW statement.

"The attacks are not valid deliberate - deliberate or careless - is a war crime," said HRW in a statement.

Earlier, an Israeli military legal officer said the military is conducting a criminal investigation into five incidents in Gaza. This includes an incident July 24 when Israel attacking UN school in Beit Hanun, North Gaza, which claimed at least 15 lives.

Israeli military would investigate cases of alleged other crimes. Including the death of a Palestinian family of eight people, as a result of Israeli air strikes into their homes.
